After the Berkeley riots this week, well, you might want to peruse this link:
Yeah, 47 years ago, but, history does repeat itself, eh?
“The Kent State shootings (also known as the May 4 massacre or the Kent State massacre) occurred at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, in the United States and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. There were 28 soldiers who admitted to firing on top of the hill, 25 of these soldiers fired 55 rounds into the air and into the ground, two of the soldiers fired .45cal pistol shots, three into the crowd, and three into the air, one soldier fired birdshot into the air (James Russell was also hit with a shotgun’s birdshot, some believe that some of the shots may have ricocheted off a tree and hit him). The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.
Some of the students who were shot had been protesting the Cambodian Campaign, which President Richard Nixon announced during a television address on April 30. Other students who were shot had been walking nearby or observing the protest from a distance.”
Hmm, seeing some parallels yet?
Oh, and what happened at Berkeley California this week?
in there this, about how Berkeley was supposed to be a shining example of the power of free speech, how people could engage in dialogue. NO MORE!!!
“Berkeley College Republicans, the group that had hosted Yiannopoulos’ appearance, did not mince words as it summed up its disappointment. “The Free Speech Movement is dead,” the group said in a statement posted on its website. “Last night, the Berkeley College Republicans’ constitutional right to free speech was silenced by criminals and thugs seeking to cancel Milo Yiannopoulos’ tour. Their success is a defeat for civilized society and the free exchange of ideas on college campuses across America.”
The group thanked the campus police and university administration “for doing all they could to ensure the safety of everyone involved. It is tragic that the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement is also its final resting place.” “
We are witnessing the cultivation of a generation that redefines the “Me” generation that the Boomers pathetically cultivated. In other words, bad to worse!
Where did they come up with this assinine “Snowflake” term anyway?! These morons should be referenced as “Turd pellets”, as no two turds are exactly the same, if the point of the idiotic reference to begin with…
Again, good luck to read in the future of American authorities shooting American citizens…
Not that future times won’t be deserving, these students were rioting, but, an issue that was about war, not outrage of losing an election. But, why split hairs when one can split a country apart, eh?!?!
